*Company Description: *We are excited to announce a job opening for an EXPERIENCED Leather Goods Artisan at Orox Leather Co., a family-owned manufacturing workshop based in Portland, OR. At Orox, we take pride in creating durable and timeless leather goods that age beautifully. Our dedicated team of artisans is committed to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and ensuring the highest quality in every product. Orox is in a growth phase, having opened the first Latino Owned retail space in PDX airport in 2024, and are also on path to open a third location in 2026. We are regularly introducing new products and designs to expand our customer, and business to business offerings.Responsibilities & qualifications* We are looking for someone who has previous experience with production sewing, industrial machinery, and handling industrial materials, preferably leather.* Proficiency in operating industrial walking foot sewing machines, industrial sander, heat press, Bell knife skiver, strap cutter, die cutter, and other relevant equipment is also required.* Knowledge and ability to follow patterns and specifications including various sewing and finishing techniques.* As a member of our team, you will be accountable for maintaining a smooth workflow and meeting production targets of quality on designated tasks.* You will also be expected work in a safe and efficient manner in a compact, shared, and climate controlled workspace.As a Leather Goods Artisan, you will have the opportunity to assemble a range of high-quality handbags, backpacks, duffel bags, satchels, and other small leather goods. Your role will involve skillfully following established patterns and specifications, utilizing industrial production machinery to shape and sew leather and other materials, while ensuring precise stitching and attention to detail for each product.
