It encompasses the time-honored virtue of hospitality or, to put it in Greek, philoxenia.*POSITION SUMMARY *The AGM (Assistant General Manager) will support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, staff management, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include assisting with scheduling, inventory, and financial tasks, as well as handling guest complaints and maintaining food quality standards. The AGM also plays a key role in staff training, development, and performance management.*ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ** Help manage the restaurant's daily operations, ensuring smooth service and a positive guest experience.* Support with staff management including scheduling, performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline of employees.* Assist in tracking inventory levels, ordering supplies, and managing costs.* Support with financial management including payroll, budgeting, and analyzing financial data to improve profitability.* Ensure high standards of guest engagement, addressing complaints and resolving issues promptly.* Monitor food handling, storage, and preparation to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.* Ensure the restaurant adheres to health and safety regulations and company policies.* Provide guidance, support, and motivation to the restaurant staff.* Assist in training new employees, providing ongoing coaching, and conducting performance reviews.* Support with resolving operational issues, addressing employee concerns, and handling guest complaints.* Perform open or closing tasks for the restaurant, manager shifts, and ensure smooth operations during service.* Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by fostering teamwork and communication.* Any other tasks as required by immediate supervisor.*KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS ** Bachelor’s degree* 3+ years of experience in restaurant management or a related field* Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.* A strong understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and cost control is crucial.* Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.* Proven ability to work independently while managing shifting priorities and ensuring team alignment.* Ability to work as a team player with a high level of initiative, self-motivation, and confidence.* Ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbal and written, collaboration skills with a demonstrated high degree of emotional intelligence to manage and lead a diverse team.* Must support and promote a culture of inclusiveness, respect, and a positive employee experience.* Results-oriented and able to drive the process of converting an idea into production.* Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed guest's expectations.* Ability to work in a dynamic environment* Ability to work both independently and in a team environment* Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.* Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.* Must be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ** Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.* Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.* Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times.* Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property.  Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.* Climbing steps regularly* Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.*COMPENSATION *The base pay range for this position is between $100,000 - $110,000 per annum.
