*HOUSE DIRECTOR*Kappa Kappa Gamma, Epsilon Psi Chapter at UC Santa Barbara*Position Type:* Full-Time, Exempt Employee (Live-In Position)*Contract Term:* 10 months (September 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027, _next term is then subject to renewal_)*About Kappa Kappa Gamma*Founded in 1870, Kappa Kappa Gamma is one of the oldest women's Greek-letter fraternities in North America. The Epsilon Psi Chapter at UC Santa Barbara is home to vibrant, accomplished collegiate women. We are committed to leadership, integrity, and creating an inclusive and supportive living-learning environment.*Role Summary*We are seeking a professional, warm, and experienced House Director to manage the day-today operations of the chapter house and support a safe, welcoming environment. This is a fulltime exempt position requiring on-site residence and availability outside standard hours. The House Director supervises staff, oversees major expenditures, and serves as a key mentor and administrator.*Compensation** *Salary:* $5,550/month for 10 months (Total: $55,500)_Contract is from September 1st to June 30th, with summer months “off”_* *Private living quarters provided on-site** *In-Kind Compensation:*_Free Lodging Provided - YEAR ROUND__Free Board (meals) Provided - during house operating months_* *Additional Allowances:*_Health Insurance Compensation__Gas Stipend Provided - during contract duration__Food Stipend Provided - during recruitment prior to meal service operation _* *Paid Breaks:*_Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break_*Key Responsibilities** Supervise 5+ household and kitchen staff and oversee all house operations.* Maintain and manage a monthly operating budget and make discretionary decisions on high-value expenditures ($1,000–$5,000/month).* Establish and maintain posted office hours.* Conduct nightly security checks and maintain house safety.* Coordinate all repairs, deliveries, and vendor visits.* Uphold strict no-alcohol and no-candle policies in accordance with Kappa policy.* Serve as a live-in chaperone and community role model.* Be available during mealtimes and maintain a strong presence in the chapter house.* Maintain petty cash for laundry and vending needs.* Supervise chapter house opening/closing each term and major break.* Provide emergency contact info when away from the property (subject to approval).* Complete all continuing education and DEI training required by the House Board.*Qualifications** Minimum 5 years of related experience in residential management, hospitality, or student services.* Strong financial judgment and budget management.* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.* Strong interpersonal skills and discretion.* Proficient in Microsoft Office.* Must be able to lift 30 lbs and navigate stairs.* High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.* Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.*Essential Competencies** Emotional intelligence and empathy* Organization and attention to detail* Conflict de-escalation and problem-solving* Social grace and professionalism* Cultural sensitivity and inclusivity* Reliability and personal accountability*Working Conditions** Must reside overnight on-site and be present during academic year, unless otherwise approved.* Smoke-free, alcohol-free, candle-free, and pet-free environment.* Expected to work 40 or more hours per week, including weekends and evenings as needed.* Substitute House Director may be utilized with prior permission.*Equal Opportunity Statement*Kappa Kappa Gamma is an equal opportunity employer.
