*JOB OVERVIEW*Position: Seasonal Summer Youth Development ProfessionalType: Temporary Full-time (10 weeks: June 16-Aug 22)Schedule: 5 days per week, Mon-FriStart Date: June 16, 2025Reporting To: Program Director*RESPONSIBILITIES*The Youth Development Professional collaborates with Program Leadership to implement safe, enriching, and outcome-driven programs for school-age youth. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive and supportive environment where youth can thrive. Key responsibilities include:1. Ensuring a physically, emotionally, and mentally safe environment for all youth.2. Planning and executing outcome-driven programs under the guidance of the Program Leadership.3. Providing guidance to Club members on various aspects of their well-being.4. Building positive relationships with youth through active listening and mentorship.5. Documenting and addressing inappropriate behaviors following Club procedures.6. Maintaining safety and functionality of indoor/outdoor areas and equipment.7. Adhering to all policies and procedures set by the organization.*SKILLS*- Experience in Youth Development, Tutoring, Special education, Behavior management- Background working with children in areas such as camp or sports coaching- Knowledge of childhood development principles- Ability to educate and engage youth effectively- Strong communication skills (oral and written)*ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS*- High School Diploma- Current First Aid/CPR Certification (Training may be provided)- Ability to work with children of various ages in structured programs- Successful completion of drug screen, background, and reference checks*COMPENSATION & BENEFITS*- Wage: $20.50/hour for the Summer Program- Sick leave accrual at 1 hour per 30 hours worked- Eligibility for 401(k) Retirement plan with employer match- Free or reduced care for school-aged children may be availableThis job description outlines the primary duties and requirements expected of a Youth Development Professional.
