Assistant Cook

*Overview*Come work in a relaxed and family-oriented environment where everyone's goal is to make our residents smile.A Cook's Assistant is involved in a variety of kitchen activities, keeping your day interesting and never monotonous. You will help with food prep, dining room service, set-up, cleaning, and stocking.*Duties** Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and menu plans.* Support the head cook in daily kitchen operations and food service.* Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety standards.* Wait on tables and interact with residents.* Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal delivery and exceptional service.* Assist with inventory management, including tracking supplies and placing orders.*Qualifications** Experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility preferred, but not necessary.* Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.* Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team, and have dependable, regular attendance* Experience in a hospitality environment, able to provide exceptional hospitality toward our residents and guests.* A passion for food service and commitment to delivering high-quality meals.*Benefits:** Health Insurance (30+ hours)* Dental Insurance* Life Insurance (full time/100% employer paid)* Short-term disability; Accident; Life insurance available* 401k with 3% matching contributions (after 1-year)* 2 weeks Paid vacation (after 1-year)* Paid Sick time* Free meals, drinks & snacks* 9 Paid Holidays*The hours for this position are 9:30am-6:00pm*Family owned and operated since 1962, Newfield House is a private nursing home that provides a beautiful setting with 24-hour nursing care to 50 residents.
