*LIFEGUARD JOB DESCRIPTION**Job Summary*: Ensure safety of pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.*Duties and Responsibilities ** Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility, from the assigned position and act immediately to ensure patron safety in the event of an emergency.* Examine injured patrons and administer first aid, CPR or any emergency care needed, until emergency medical services arrive.* Enforce facility rules and regulations.* Sign in patrons and enforce rules regarding entrance.* Clean pool, deck, restrooms, guard areas and other buildings as required.* Maintain records of water quality; sign in information, and incident reports as well as other required documentation.* Inspect safety equipment, furniture, pool and surrounding areas daily, inform superiors of any repairs needed.* Monitor weather conditions and determine safety of patrons based on weather.* Attend in service trainings as required.* Present a professional appearance and attitude always, maintain a high level of customer service.* Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors.*Minimum job requirements*Must be at least 15 years old and hold current CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certifications by American Red Cross or the equivalent.*Knowledge, skills and abilities required*-Ability to react calmly and professionally in emergency situations.-Maintain CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard skills to current testing standards.-Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.-Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team.-Physically able to perform necessary lifeguard skills and lift 25+ lbs.*Lifeguard manager job description**Job Summary*Ensure safety of pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Supervise lifeguards at facility. Meet job duties and responsibilities of lifeguard.*Duties and Responsibilities: ** Supervise and train lifeguards working at facility.* Maintain water chemistry, by testing and adjusting chemical levels as needed.* Monitor pump and motor operations, vacuum, and backwash pool daily.* Write and distribute schedules according to schedule block for staff at facility.* Handle any customer relations problems regarding pool patrons.* Maintain all required documentation daily.* *Educate lifeguards on pump operations and water chemistry.** Communicate with supervisors regarding facility needs, patrons and guards daily.* Write up and update directions for sub managers and lifeguards.* Fill out sub evaluations and lifeguard evaluations as needed.* Communicate with property manager and/or board members as needed.*Minimum job requirements*Recommended that employee have a minimum of two (2) years lifeguarding experience. Hold current CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certifications by American Red Cross or equivalent. Certified Pool Operator license and knowledge of pool operations. Prior management experience a plus.*Knowledge, skills and abilities required:*-Ability to react well under pressure.-Strong leadership skills.-Organized-Conflict resolution*_As a substitute or roving manger it is your responsibility to handle all duties at the pool you are subbing for.
