Primary Job Title: Staff Project Controls SpecialistLocation: Englewood, CO (Onsite)Date Posted: 7/29/2025Employment Type: Contract to Hire(4 months)Salary Range: $44 – $64 per hourJob Description:The Staff Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading project controls processes for the internal project management team, ensuring that project deliverables are met on schedule and within budget. This position requires analytical and communication expertise, familiarity with project controls tools (Oracle Primavera P6 preferred), and a strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) project life cycles.Key Responsibilities:Set up and manage project data in Enterprise Planning & Controls systems, including WBS creation, schedules, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.Oversee planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control for multiple EPC projects.Act as the primary technical contact for the project team on project controls matters.Approve and manage purchase orders and subcontracts with proper coding.Collaborate with project management and accounting teams for cost reviews and audits.Review and manage change orders, including contracts, purchase orders, and subcontracts.Prepare and present cash flow and schedule reports (e.g., critical path, resource loading).Maintain earned value management systems, including progress measurement and takeoffs.Conduct field audits to validate data accuracy and reporting processes.Support and participate in Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).Execute schedule “what-if” scenarios and perform forensic analysis when needed.Perform quality assurance checks on project control deliverables.Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.Other duties as assigned.Occasional site visits may be required, potentially involving travel and overnight stays.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with at least 3 years of direct project controls experience (or equivalent experience in lieu of degree).Preferred experience with Oracle Primavera P6.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.OSHA 10-hour safety certification (or ability to obtain).EEO Statement: EEO/Minorities/Females/Disabled/VeteransBenefits:Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401(k) Retirement FundAbout the Company:Infrastructure Engineering FirmWe specialize in designing and building essential infrastructure that supports thriving cities.
