Wheel Rotary MachinistAlternate Job Titles:Machinist – Wheel Rotary OperationsCNC Wheel MachinistPrecision Machining SpecialistRotary Manufacturing TechnicianMetal Fabrication MachinistLocation:Santa Ana, CAOnsite Flexibility:OnsiteContract DetailsPosition Type: ContractContract Duration: ~18 monthsPay Rate: $25.40/hrShift/Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (PST)Job SummaryAs a Wheel Rotary Machinist, you will play a critical role in manufacturing precision components by reworking, machining, and finishing expander and compression wheels to tight tolerances. Success in this role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain balancing and spin test machines.Review engineering drawings, blueprints, and instructions to ensure production accuracy.Perform machining, fabrication, and rework tasks to meet tight tolerance requirements.Inspect output, ensuring compliance with quality and ISO standards.Identify, document, and address defects or rework needs.Perform machine maintenance and minor repairs.Maintain a clean and safe workstation, following 5S and Lean Manufacturing practices.Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and HSE teams to meet production goals.Required ExperienceHigh School Diploma required.3+ years of manufacturing/assembly machining experience.Strong understanding of machining operations, quality procedures, and ISO standards.Proven experience with tool usage and mechanical troubleshooting.Nice-to-Have ExperienceExperience in precision machining for high-tolerance components.Prior work with balancing and spin test machines.Required SkillsMechanical aptitude with excellent hand-eye coordination.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.Knowledge of metal fabrication and machining processes.Proficiency in basic arithmetic and computer skills.Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks safely.Preferred SkillsKnowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.Familiarity with team-based engineering and quality environments.Additional SkillsStrong problem-solving and adaptability in high-speed production environments.Self-motivated, independent worker with strong teamwork mindset.Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.BenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401(k) Retirement FundAbout the ClientA global leader in industrial gases, technologies, and healthcare services, serving more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide.
