*Job Summary*We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Dean of Nursing. This position is pivotal in shaping the educational landscape within our institution, focusing on curriculum development, strategic planning, and overall education administration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in higher education and demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills.*Duties*· Provide strategic leadership and administrative oversight for all nursing education programs within the college system.· Work closely with the President/Chief Academic Officer and Executive Director of Accreditation, Compliance, and Student Services to lead accreditation and licensing efforts for the School of Nursing (SON), including documentation and engagement with regulatory agencies (e.g., self-studies, agency visit preparations, preparation for annual accreditation and licensing reports due each year, and the Systematic Program Evaluation (SPE) maintenance).· Ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, state boards of nursing, nursing accrediting bodies, and all institutional accreditation/compliance/licensure standards.· Maintain timely and accurate documentation and communication with all regulatory and accrediting agencies.· Participate in the development and revision of nursing policies by working with the Academic Affairs Leadership Committee and other senior leaders to manage policy development, curriculum design, personnel oversight, budget planning, and fiscal accountability.· Lead, with the support of the faculty, the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing curricula, including simulation-based learning across programs.· Communicate institutional and programmatic policies, procedures, and rationales accurately.· Promote continuous quality improvement and innovation in nursing education.· Serve as a mentor and resource for students, faculty, and academic nurse leaders with an emphasis on developing leadership skills and supporting student success.· Facilitate resolution of concerns according to policy raised by students, faculty, or staff.· Foster collaborative relationships and promote the mission, vision, values, and strategic goals of the School of Nursing within the college and with external stakeholders, including clinical agencies (through the Director of Community Relations) and professional organizations.· Advocate for necessary resources and services to support students, faculty, and staff.· Assist in the development and dissemination of accurate promotional materials for nursing programs.· Sustain active membership and engagement in professional and academic organizations, as well a maintain relationships with relevant communities of interest.· Participate in nursing education meetings (e.g., KBN) to remain informed and engaged with broader academic and professional trends.Monitor trends in healthcare, education, and research to guide the evolution of nursing programs. Specifically, monitor nursing professional standards, specialized accreditation standards, NCLEX testing blueprints, and nursing education best practices for teaching methodology and assessment.· Create and sustain an environment that fosters teamwork, cooperation, and a collaborative approach across nursing education programs and the broader college system.· Oversee the hiring, supervision, evaluation, and separation processes for nursing academic leaders, faculty, and staff.· Assess faculty development needs and support professional growth in administration, teaching, and leadership by facilitating individualized development plans for lead faculty, program directors, and faculty, and ensuring participation in required annual in-service (2) and professional growth (2).· Direct efforts related to retention, promotion, and development of nursing program personnel.· Promote rapport and collegiality across campuses to strengthen interdepartmental collaboration and morale.· Collaborate with senior leadership across operational areas, including president/chief academic officer, admissions, compliance, human resources, information technology, student services, and student financial services, to ensure a safe, effective, and efficient learning and working environment.· Model professional behavior, innovative leadership, and high standards of practice in all operational activities.· Serve as an active member of institutional and School of Nursing committees (e.g., nursing admissions and nursing advisory committee) and coordinate two formal external advisory committee meetings annually via Teams, ensuring documentation and utilization of feedback for continuous program improvement. Represent nursing education programs systemwide in senior leadership and collegewide committees; plan, coordinate, and facilitate nursing faculty, admissions, and advisory board meetings; oversee the formation and refinement of nursing-related committees across the college system and appoint/train/support faculty/staff as appropriate.· Participate in the annual budget planning process with the President and Sr. Manager/Controller for nursing education programs across the college system, incorporating input from faculty and staff to identify programmatic and operational needs.· Assist lead faculty and program directors in budget planning for future programming, including simulation implementation throughout the curriculum and instructional resources.· Maintain fiscal responsibility for nursing education program budgets, ensuring efficient and effective use of college resources.· Oversee the design, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing curricula to achieve institutional and programmatic performance metrics.· Champion and provide leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of new nursing education programs.· Ensure full-time faculty maintain required teaching loads and adjunct faculty remain within approved teaching limits to support instructional efficiency.· Optimize course offerings and scheduling to promote resource efficiency and instructional effectiveness.Maintain effective use of simulation labs to meet clinical hour requirements and uphold regulatory standards.*Experience** Minimum of two (2) years of full-time/or equivalent administrative and/or program leadership experience in higher education.* Minimum of two (2) years of full-time teaching experience at bachelor-level or above.* MUST MEET ALL BOARD OF NURSING REQUIREMENTS.*KENTUCKY BOARD OF NURSING REQUIREMENTS:** Current/eligible RN licensure in Kentucky.
