In this position you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: ''Improving Health, Improving Lives''.The work schedule for this position will be 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 4pm to 12:30am)Esoteric Immunoassay (IA)The Esoteric Immunoassay Department at the Center for Esoteric Testing performs a comprehensive menu of tests for the measurement of proteins and organic compounds of clinical interest. Immunoassays utilizing radioisotopic, enzymatic and chemiluminescent technologies are carried out by manual, semi-automated and fully automated mechanisms. The test menu can be divided into several groups on the basis of clinical utility. These include tests for the evaluation of :Adrenocortical FunctionHypothalamic and Pituitary FunctionAutoimmune-Based Endocrine DisfunctionParathyroid FunctionBone Metabolism (Osteoclast/Osteoblast Activity)Renal/Electrolyte BalanceGastrointestinal Function and Carbohydrate MetabolismThyroid FunctionGonadal Function and Sex Hormone MetabolismTumor Markers for Screening and Patient Status AssessmentGrowth Hormone and Related Hormone StatusJob Duties/Responsibilities:Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteriaPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating ProceduresMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionalityDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controlsReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresIdentify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessaryAssist with processing of specimens when neededMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment FLEXIBLE SCHEDULESNO EXPERIENCE NECESSARYON THE JOB TRAININGBachelor''s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology or a related science as required by CLIAMinimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for Technologist levelNO experience required at the Technologist Trainee levelASCP or AMT certification is preferredAbility to work independently and within a team environmentProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plusHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skillsMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screenFlexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needsIf you''re looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply today!
