Adecco Staffing is working with a manufacturing client in New Bedford, MA to bring on a Planner/Buyer. This position is a full-time position, temp to hire. Rate: $29.22 - $47.47 Depending on Experience Hours: 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday Position Title: Planner/Buyer Job Overview: The Planner/Buyer role is responsible for the effective and efficient production planning and purchasing activities including MRP planning parameters maintenances, initiate work orders and follow up to ensure conformance to schedule for sub assembly, finished good and outside processing operations. Job Duties: • Analyze MRP requirements and apply judgment to determine optimal quantity in releasing work order for sub assembly and finished goods as well as for purchasing components needed to complete the order on time • Maintain production schedule in terms of all jobs completed and report outstanding status of incomplete jobs • Maintain part shortage report for tracking systems of processes to assure on-time delivery • Provide continual quality reporting of operations including updating sales on customer on-time delivery due dates to assure customer satisfaction • Develop and maintain planning methods to ensure Work in Process (WIP) is in sync with MRP requirement and avoid any WIP aging in coordination with operations • Maintain inventory to minimize overstock and out of stock occurrences and to minimize excess/slow moving inventory • Monitor inventory orders to analyze supply and demands, as well as make inventory projections • Investigate customer issues and order problems for solutions. Coordinate communications with Inside Sales. • Identify inefficiencies in filling and shipping orders • Obtain competitive bids wherever possible. In all cases, ensure that the price being paid is fair and reasonable • Manage suppliers to reduce costs, improve quality, control inventories, and ensure timely flow of material. • Manage inventories to ensure continuous production while maximizing turns and minimizing excess/slow moving inventory • Proactively report product and material availability issues to internal groups • Implement best materials practices to improve efficiencies Job Requirements • Bachelor''s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or related experience and/or training • Minimum 5-7 years'' experience in production control planning/purchasing activities in a manufacturing environment with preference on Aerospace preferred • CPIM highly desired • Excellent understanding of and work experience establishing and maintaining MRP parameters including order policy, min-max lot sizing, lead time, shrink and scrap factors • Knowledge and experience scheduling and releasing work orders for sub assembly and finished good per MRP order action report • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems, multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) and routing • Knowledge of job shop Manufacturing (high mix/low volume) and Outside Processing • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings • Computer skills (MS Office, including Vlookup and Pivot tables, and Avante) • Excellent communication skills, ability to interact constructively at all levels, independent self-starter, team player and multi-tasker on high priority issues • For the purposes of ITAR regulations, applicants should be US citizens or permanent residents. *** If you are interested in this position, please apply directly to this posting.
