Must be comfortable with representing clients in front of the IRS to resolve tax disputes and discrepancies and be able to handle high volume environments.Why join us?Top-rated Tax Resolution company!Growing company- have tripled in the last 3 years!Make a difference in people''s lives!Job Details Manage a high volume (150- 200/month) tax return preparation department consisting of multiple tax preparers & assistants. Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal and multi-state tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms for our clients. Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes. Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team. Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process. Ensure assistants follow up with clients in a timely manner for information, documents, tax organizers, signed tax returns & anything else that may be needed. Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments tomanagement and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation. Provide support with various internal audits, pulling of client transcripts and other special tax related projects. Work closely with other department leaders including but not limited to Resolution, Customer Service, Sales and Mail. Manage and mentor members of the tax team to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement. Coach tax team on how to effectively communicate with clients. Handle escalation matters which may require direct communication with clients. Prepare tax returns as-needed.Must-Have-Skills: Extensive individual/corporate/partnership tax knowledge Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations. Familiarity with U.S. federal and state reporting requirements. Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements. Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members. Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in a tax manager/director or public accountant role. Active CPA or Enrolled Agent license. CPA license preferred.
