Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

9 rooms with 10 beds. Omnicell medication system and Cerner, Community Works documentation system. 2 years minimum experience. Must be proficient with LD, PP, and newborn care. Accepts 1st time travelers. Required certification: BCLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP, ACLS (preferred), STABLE (preferred). Skill requirements: IV Start, Triage, Charge Nurse Experience (preferred). Nurses prep and recover uncomplicated cases (non-general anesthesia) in this department, and utilizes the main OR and only circulate in emergency situations.This unit takes care of a diverse population with a relatively high Medicaid percentage. Approximately 40% of the population is Guatemalan, speaking primarily Mam and KanJobal, with English or Spanish as a second language. We average 25 to 30 deliveries per month, but anticipating some growth with the arrival of a new physician. Having core knowledge of all aspects of obstetric services is a plus, as nurses do everything from nursery care to labor and delivery. Patient age group: Neonates, adults, and geriatrics.
