The TEGNA Streaming Center in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking for a Supervisor of Technology and Multicast Operations. This position reports to the TEGNA Stream Center Head of Technology. This position will direct and oversee portions of the day-to-day technical operations and have technical oversight of TEGNA''s three multicast networks, True Crime Network, QUEST, and TWIST. Responsibility will include management of TSC team members, hands-on maintenance of infrastructures such as broadcast equipment, IT network, automation, and staff members'' training. Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage new multicast affiliate integrations.Direct all support processes for multicast operations.Oversee Service Now ticketing and resolutions for multicast networks.Develop and coordinate viewer and station response team for issue resolution.Take part in in the design, implementation, configuration, monitoring, support and corrective maintenance of all storage and computer systems, data centers, and media applications hosted on on-premises and virtual infrastructure.Maintain, upgrade, and support of Media applications including commercial encoding, transcoding, packaging, playout, and media asset management systems, as well as custom software applications which support various media workflows.Oversee the troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware, software, and peripherals, including network servers, storage, network operating systems, PCs and PC applications, LAN cabling, system security, and virus protection.Liaise with third party vendors (e.g., equipment vendors and software providers) during issue resolution and new platform evaluationsMaintain detailed documentation, monitoring tools and drawings as required to address growth including system configuration and wiring infrastructure to facility standards. Requirements: Maintain knowledge and stay current on technological advances, including computer software and hardware, media and content distribution technologies, and television broadcasting distribution.Understanding of playout automation equipment.Available to work various hours and days, including weekends, overnights, and holidays, as needed.Managing multiple projects simultaneously.Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.Outstanding communication and people skills, both written and verbal.Associate degree in Electronics, Broadcasting or related field and five years'' experience in broadcast equipment repair, design, and installation. Supervisory experience is required.
