Construction Estimator - REMOTE Midwest Region

The Construction Estimator also works closely with the project managers and superintendents during the construction phase to answer questions and support the construction process for change order costing or large scope change costing.Construction Estimator Responsibilities Establishing an overall strategy, as well as job-specific strategies, to develop rough order magnitude pricingMaintain database of past project bids and quotesMaintain updated cost for ROM (rough order magnitude) pricing toolDeveloping a thorough and detailed estimate of costs for every project.Managing bid day activities to ensure all subcontractor numbers are received, analyzed and reviewed for complete and accurate scope coverage.Demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills enough to effectively communicate with clients, design professionals, subcontractors, and Company personnel.Working with the design professionals and the client throughout the design/build process to help ensure the proposed project is planned to fit within the client''s budget and encompasses the needs of the client.Assisting with identifying value engineering opportunities and cost saving construction methods and procedures.Must have and maintain/develop a strong relationship with the local subcontractor base to ensure complete coverage and the best pricing on the projects we bid and budget.Perform quantity takeoffs and bidding of construction projectsAbility to revise budgets and proposals on a regular basisHave knowledge of construction costs & principlesPrepare detailed estimates including complete takeoff of scope as neededDetermine labor, equipment & material requirementsSolicit pricing from vendors and subcontractorsManage subcontractor solicitation and selection processReview subcontractor proposals against drawings and specificationsParticipate in pre-job meeting with project teamAssist in preparation of Bid/RFQ/RFP packagesConstruction Estimator Qualifications 4-year Degree RequiredGeneral computer skills and proficiency on smart phone and tablet devices required.10+ years industry experience.5-7 years of construction experience estimating projects.Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Capable of bidding projects from $500k to $50MExperience with all types of construction projects, including ground-up, renovations, additions, repairs, tenant improvements, etc.Expertise in reading and interpreting plans and blueprintsStrong organizational skillsAccuracy and attention to detail are criticalSuperior written and verbal communication skillsCustomer service orientedMore About SitelogIQAt SitelogIQ, we''re focused on creating a great environment for our team first so that it is more energizing and rewarding to focus on creating a great experience for our customers.
