General Summary of Position: Assists the Pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications to patients. Performs designated technical functions to facilitate pharmacy operations. Education: High school degree or GED diploma is required. Requires ability to read and write, knowledge of grammar, medical terminology, and proficiency in basic mathematics, including fractions and decimals, and keyboard skills. May require the use of standard office/medical equipment (i.e., typewriter, personal computer, data terminal, on-line printer, calculator, telephone, facsimile, copier, and sterilizing equipment); the preparation, comparison, or checking of reports, records, and related data; and the basic use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings and knowledge of their application. Experience: At least thirty-six months of hospital experience is required.
