Incentive Strategy Manager - HUM000629 The Senior Incentive Strategy Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of incentive programs across multiple sales and service channels (Retail, SMB, Customer Service, Agents, National Retail and Web). Responsible for researching, developing and evaluating new incentive strategies and structures, assessing behavioral and cultural impact, revenue generation and impact to the organization and its customers. The position is accountable for determining appropriate components, budgeting, and methods to appropriately measure activity, seeing that data requirements can be effectively captured and measured in an effective way and that statistically valid models are developed to predict expected performance and incentive awards. Drives the strategic design of variable incentive compensation programs across all the above channels, ensuring current and newly designed programs motivate associates, leaders, agents and National Retail employees achieve each channel''s business results so that we can serve customers wherever they choose to shop. Communicates with stakeholders, senior level leaders across business channels, and multiple departments including Marketing, Human Resources, Sales and Customer Service to ensure understanding of commission plans and obtain feedback on what is and is not incentive those within each channel. Strategy Development Drives the design and management of incentive compensation programs in a multi-channel environment including plan design (component weightings), financial modeling, performance scorecards, and recognition programs. Evaluate opportunities for increased associate engagement generated through marketing and sales organizations. Develop business cases for new associate incentive programs including investment requirements, revenues, and costs; assess competitive positioning; work with cross-functional teams to define high level operational requirements. Make recommendations on those opportunities. Understand industry developments, competitor incentive plans and positioning, and trends in associate behavior and incentives. Assist other functional areas in the planning and preparation for new products and services to ensure a successful adoption of associate behaviors necessary for the success of the business. Is knowledgeable and involved with any project that requires sales incentive information or participation. Compensation and Project Management Develop and implement new associate incentive programs designed to maximize associate behavior and performance to optimize the customer experience. Manages expense forecasting of large-scale incentive programs (associates & agents) and works with Finance teams to allocate appropriate budget annually. Maintain expertise on incentives and performance management through training and research. Designs sales incentive training and education programs for the sales force. Manages sales effectiveness policies/procedures and updates when necessary. Guides administrative teams (ICS) and fields sales leadership regarding associate and agent plan interpretation and serves as a point of contact for issue resolution. Communication and Escalation Formally communicates and regularly reinforces all sales incentive plan changes (design, process, weighting, plan rules, etc.). Leads monthly incentive discussions with senior level Sales and Customer Service leaders (Regional VPs, Directors of Customer Service and Directors of Sales, etc...) informing them of incentive trends and discuss future incentive initiatives. Development and Delivery of incentive related communications and training for all levels of the sales and customer service organization. Development and Delivery Executive presentations around compensation proposals and compensation trending. Strong preference to MBA and/or equivalent work experiences with BA/BS Business or Organizational Behavior undergraduate degree. 7-9 years of experience required with specific sales compensation experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience researching, developing, implementing and/or interpreting performance, payouts and incentive strategies in a multi-channel environment required. Experience communicating both verbally (on phone, one-on-one, to groups) and in writing (emails, letters, reports, presentations) to various audiences. Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment required. Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines Experience in wireless industry a plus. Experience in developing business cases for executive management. Ability to work independently and within team with strong problem solving skills Demonstrated aptitude for understanding technology and its integration with performance management. Level skill in Microsoft Office 2003 or later: Word (for example: creating and modifying text styles, numbering and sorting lists, working with sections and columns, formatting tables, and using templates and using diagrams and drawing tools), Excel (for example: formatting text and borders of cells, working with workbooks and worksheets, using range names, referencing cells, sorting, and auto filtering) and PowerPoint (for example: creating presentations, adding and removing slides, entering and formatting text, applying design templates, modifying masters, inserting graphics and objects, creating handouts). Strong strategic and analytical skills needed. Strong financial acumen necessary. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, collaborative partnering, systems aptitude, and analytical support activities. At least two years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work and/or managing large projects.
