Optometric Practice Manager

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Manages all aspects of the accounts administration of the Low Vision Rehabilitation Service to ensure the highest levels of patient care and customer service. Providing oversight to business, inventory, and EHR processes while establishing and maintaining standard operation procedures. TRAVEL REQUIRED: Less than 10%; metro Chicago and suburbs. SPECIFIC ACTIVITES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Clinical oversight ensuring that complete personal and billing information is entered into each patient EHR, following up with referral sources and/or patients to rectify any incomplete information. Works closely with VP clinical services to maintain consistency, recommend and develop operating policies and procedures, implement quality improvements, and ensure compliance with the regulations of accrediting bodies and insurers. Maintains an active interest in the professional field at all levels including collecting, organizing and analyzing relevant information for use with practitioners and patients. Establishes and manages clinic policies and procedures; particularly in areas of collection of co-pays, deductibles and non-covered services at point of service. Manages credentialing of new providers and new insurances and maintains credentialing documents of existing providers Oversight of Medical Billing personnel to ensure that all procedures and records are maintained and can address coding issues; collaborates to submit and resolve billing issues as quickly as possible. Stays current on industry standards of coding, jargon, and changes. Maintains current fee schedule and co-payment amounts for Medicare and other third-party payers. Responsible for implementation and ongoing management of EHR system and inventory management. Complete inventory orders and transfers between retail and clinical departments Evaluate insurance coverage and secure coverage as applicable for rehabilitation devices and services provided through clinic Follows all HIPAA rules and regulations and Chicago Lighthouse policies regarding patient privacy. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
