Overview AmTrust Financial Services, a commercial insurance company, has a need for a Workers'' Compensation Claims Assistant. The WC Claims Assistant will provide assistance to Workers'' Compensation claims adjusters by performing a variety of support services. The Claims Assistant position will report to a Supervisor.Prior insurance experience is not required. This is a Temp Position. Responsibilities Performs data entry functions (claim checks, claim file updates, forms, form letters, electronic interfaces, etc.) as directed by claims adjuster or supervisorAssists adjusters in contacting insureds or other involved persons to obtain missing or incomplete informationReceives and/or returns telephone calls as directed by claims adjusterPerforms general maintenance of claims documents in the claim filesOther tasks as assigned by adjusters or supervisor Qualifications Thorough knowledge of workers'' compensation claims procedures and policiesAbility to take direction and make decisionsSelf-organized and detail orientedAbility to learn new procedures quickly and adapt to a changing environmentProfessional telephone demeanor and good oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environmentBasic understanding of business technologyAbility to work in a team environmentEducation/ExperienceHigh school diplomaSome college preferred1- 3 years of experience in a worker''s compensation claims department or related experience
