NOTE: THIS RECRUITMENT IS FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY.POSITION SUMMARY: The Work Planning & Execution Lead reports to the Plant Engineering Manager and directly supports department management in the day-to-day coordination and technical planning of work activities. The position requires coordinating with the discipline leads and other departments as needed to help balance team availability with project demands.This position will also have 'dotted line'' reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager to similarly support the systems engineering team for similar support. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working within approved project phase plans provided by the Project Management Office, generate detailed technical work plans and assist supervisors with resource allocation, leveling, and prioritization to ensure efficient use of resources.Coordinate with the Systems Engineering team, Plant Engineering team, and the Program Management Office to plan the implementation of approved design changes. May at times act as the Change Implementation Leader for Plant terface with the Program Management Office for schedule status updates and work planning.Assess department capabilities versus resource demand. This may include proposing and helping develop and implement solutions when demand outpaces capacity.Support department-wide organizational and business process improvement and standardization initiatives.Perform administrative functions such as writing and reviewing work execution related reports, and maintaining intra-department communication terface and coordinate with internal and external clients as required for successful execution of engineering work activities.Prepare engineering resource estimates and schedules.May be asked to help develop technical statements of work, and assist the procurement team by coordinating technical inputs to facilitate the award of procurement and subcontract packages.Perform other duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate competencies in performing the essential functions of this position by performing satisfactorily in each of these competencies. Team Building: Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization. Safety Culture: Adheres to the Organization Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards. Quality Assurance: Demonstrates understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: Education/Certification: A minimum of a Bachelor''s degree in engineering, construction management, or business is required. Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of full-time experience working in a project oriented work environment, preferably in the power or nuclear industries, is required. Understanding of engineering and/or manufacturing projects and terminology based on past work required. Strong technical writing and presentation skills and good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
