POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor, Modeling & Drafting, the Drafter 3 will work alongside engineers to develop 3D models and 2D drawings of NuScale structures, systems, and components utilizing Siemens NX®, SolidWorks®, AutoCAD®, and/or SmartPlant®. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Generate 3-dimensional parts and assemblies. Develop geometry for use in FEA and CFD analysis models. Prepare process flow diagrams and process and instrumentation diagrams for both primary and balance of plant systems. Create 2-dimensional line drawings and figures for reports. Write design documentation to accompany engineering reports and studies. Prepare and review engineering specifications, drawings, and other documentation that communicates the design and technical aspects of systems, structures, and components associated with both primary and balance of plant systems. Prepare, review, and manage drafting standards and procedures. Provide informal training and technical guidance to more inexperienced staff. Safety Culture: Adheres to the NuScale Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards.Quality Assurance: Demonstrates understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: Education: An associate''s degree in drafting, engineering graphics technology, or pre-engineering from an accredited college or university is required. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional drafting experience is required. Must have demonstrated familiarity with drafting standards and best practices. A solid familiarity with CAD modeling tools including Siemens NX®, SolidWorks®, and AutoCAD® is required. Experience with other CAD platforms and CAD file management is preferred. Particular expertise with CAD packages such as CATIA, Pro-E, MicroStation, or Autodesk Inventor® may substitute for some knowledge of the other packages. Knowledge of CAD/engineering PLM systems (preferably Aras PLM) is a plus. Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
