POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Licensing the Licensing Supervisor leads a team of licensing engineers responsible for supporting the development and review of NuScale licensing applications and other licensing-related projects. The Licensing Supervisor coordinates work activities, identifies and resolves licensing-related challenges and ensures alignment between engineering design and licensing deliverables. The Licensing Supervisor ensures adherence to NuScale standards and procedures for activities within his/her span of control. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the coordination of licensing work activities in support of NuScale licensing, compliance and support activities. Responsible supporting and/or overseeing licensing and regulatory affairs activities related to other ongoing and future licensing related projects as assigned. Responsible for the direct oversight of NuScale and augmented staff work activities within the assigned span of control. Performs or ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory functions for the assigned group(s) within a business unit: planning, organizing, directing the performance of on-going activities and/or special / ad hoc assignments, staffing (employee selection, training/ coaching & performance management, time entry), coordinating, reporting & budgeting; mentors, provides guidance and direction, and acts in a subject matter expert capacity for less experienced staff. Edits, reviews and oversees preparation of submittals to regulatory agencies in support of NuScale licensing efforts including the preparation of a large and complex deliverables. Implements and supervises a range of licensing, technical and support activities / practices, making sound decisions on an expedient basis consistent with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Develops effective regulatory strategy based on industry and NRC guidance documents; makes recommendations based on the analysis technical and regulatory information through independent efforts. Actively involved in industry groups/forums, implementing lessons learned and industry best practices at NuScale. Travels domestically and/or internationally to various regulator and industry locations when performing assigned tasks. Leads continuous improvement for a given group(s): designing processes; establishing quality/quantity standards & metrics; collecting, refining, adapting & communicating best practices. Edits, reviews and oversees preparation of submittals to regulatory agencies in support of Ensures NuScale program compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards. Quality Assurance: Demonstrates understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1.MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: Education: A minimum of a Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Science is required. Advanced degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 8 years of full-time, directly applicable experience in engineering, construction, operation, licensing or maintenance, with at least 5 of those years in the nuclear field and 3 years of licensing experience is required. . Knowledge of project management systems Demonstrated leadership, people management, growth mindset, and communication skills preferred. Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
