Scope of Job: Support the development, implementation and financing of wholesale wind, solar and other renewable energy generation facilities by coordinating transmission and interconnection studies, processes, contract negotiations and funding throughout MISO, PJM and other areas as applicable. Responsibilities:Manage or coordinate, as needed, transmission and interconnection rights, and queue applications, for multiple simultaneous projects through entire process. This may include research of options for specific prospects and projects, applications, out-of-queue order processes, negotiation and signing of agreements, etc. as detailed below:Provide monthly updates with summaries of interconnection issues, funding timelines, offramps, and any needed support from the Transmission, PROMOD, or external consulting teams and assist in resolving those issues.Lead the preparation and submission of interconnection application packages.Manage budget and LC forecasts related to interconnection requests and agreements as itiate and regularly track interconnection related study results, deposits, and credit support. Provide regular updates to the development teams and other groups as required.Support negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements. Coordinate with in-house and outside counsel.Represent project in all pre-COD interconnection related issues.Identify constraints and competing generation in proposed project areas, and as appropriate, coordinate findings with EDFR Transmission Analytics/Promod groupEnsure completion of all interconnect requests on schedule and within budget.Reconcile IAs with any of the following that pertain to a particular project: hedges or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), shared facilities and metering agreements, and asset purchase agreements.Coordinate, review and provide technical insight throughout feasibility, system impact, steady state, short-circuit, stability and facilities studies.Support technical discussions and negotiations with utilities/consultants to make project interconnection timely and costly effective.Research, track and verify progress of interconnection and transmission service through RTO''s queue, OASIS, and other utility services for pipeline projects, acquisition opportunities, and competing requests.Coordinate with EDFR Transmission Policy and Analytics teams on matters related to regional transmission development including planned system upgrades, interconnection queue reforms, transmission service study reforms, and important market and tariff reforms. Understand and inform Development and technology teams of Reliability Entity, PUC, or other regulating agency''s electrical interconnection requirements through project development and implementation. Support EDFR''s M&A activities through interconnection and transmission due diligence for acquisition opportunities Assist in technical discussions with manufacturers, consultants, utilities, ISOs, and EDFR internal teams 5% - Other duties as assigned Supervision of Others: N/A Education/Experience /Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in technical field, with strong technical aptitude and project management skills and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in project management, power systems, utility system planning and transmission planning/marketing.Familiarity of interconnection processes and policies in MISO and PJM, including areas of transmission operational issues, including congestion management, TLRs, curtailment, re-dispatch and operation guides, imbalance service, real-time and day-ahead scheduling, reactive power, capacity, location marginal pricing (LMP), transmission service fees, ancillary services, system impact modeling - Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Abilities - Demonstrated ability to:Multi-task complex and sensitive projectsManage consultants/contractorsTrack projects and deadlines effectivelyProvide required project inputsReport project progress accurately and conciselyIdentify and mitigate queue process timelines and risksContract with and manage technical consultantsWork with utility managers, engineers, RTOs, power customers, consultants, local government agencies.Strong and clear interpersonal and written communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as a member of a teamAlways willing and wanting to ''take the extra step'' to achieve quality work and bring value to the team and companyProficient in MS suite productsKnowledge and experience in renewable energy would be a plus Working Conditions: Approximately 90% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, or other software as required), , and using general office equipment. Approximately, 10% of the time is spent in the field meeting with regional developers, CRMs or attending conferences, or meeting with vendors and suppliers as appropriate.
