The successful candidate will perform quality welds according to print, use clamps, jigs, tape, square, arc, air gouger, cutting torch and plasma as requried using jedgement to prevent warping and misalignment of component parts. Additionally, the candidate will operate the overhead crane, maintain necessary records. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper supervision. Candidate will maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, follow prescribed safety rules and regulations andmaintain quality standards, and perform other related duties as required or directed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: Must pass AWS & Canadian welding certification within supervisor defined timeframe. Trained and confident in overhead crane use. Must have recommendation from Supervisor Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year prior experience in this type of position.
