Our client, a publicly traded healthcare company is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their Accounting team. Duties And Responsibilities Create and adhere to deliverables checklist to ensure clerical accuracy of reports with regard to dates, formatting, headers, footing, and cross footing. In addition, all nuances specific to a center or partnership are well documented on the checklist. Assist with preparation of monthly financial packages and journal entries Prepare and present accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts as directed by the department Lead, Manager or Director. Maintain general ledger by gathering and posting entries, reconciling accounts or coordinating the reconciliation of accounts to the general ledger. Ensure maintenance and application of internal controls. Participate in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports. Provide input into goal setting for the department. Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll distribution, fixed assets and cash. Assist supervisor as needed in meeting department standards and objectives. Keeping informed policies and general environmental conditions to provide input and propose solutions to problems whenever possible. Attend regular corporate meetings or training seminars as requested. Demonstrate initiative, personal awareness, professionalism and integrity and exercise confidentiality in all areas of performance. Participate in projects and complete other duties as assigned by management. REQUIREMENTS: B.S. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study. General ledger experience. Microsoft Office proficiency, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Highly detail oriented and organized at work, able to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives. Adapts and is willing to learn new tasks, methods, and systems. Experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred).
