In this blended role your focused on the visual aesthetics as well as the product placement and flow of the showroom environment. Your work inspires our customers in creating homes they love, builds confidence in our design associates, and ensures accurate inventory levels and processes that support an extraordinary customer experience.You bring equal parts left brain, right brain in creating partnerships between visual merchandising and inventory management. You bring an eye for detail and organizational talent to the showroom aesthetics in a manner that is consistent with Room & Board''s design philosophy and connects with the lifestyles of our Austin customers throughout the unique showroom environment. Then come explore opportunities with our new Austin, TX. store, opening January of 2022!Our Austin Domain NORTHSIDE location is a complement to our existing Dallas flagship, the location will be approximately 12,000 square feet featuring a balance of inspirational room settings, artisan-crafted home décor and a design center, as well as unparalleled free design services. Customers will experience an inspirational boutique experience personally tailored to helping them imagine Room & Board''s products in their own home. A mid-January 2022 opening is planned.This Visual/Inventory Associate role is physical in nature. You will spend time working on the details of the showroom (e.g., adjusting layers within room settings, refreshing and replenishing our decor items, introducing new assortments, etc.) as well as maintaining the day to day of inventory flow and, as you''re on the floor interacting with customers you may inherently step into a design/selling position. The ability to shift focus throughout the day as the needs of the business demand is paramount to success within the role. You are naturally curious and seek to understand the needs of the business and support strategies that drive sales. You are adept at communication, both listening to and sharing information and can educate the team on how the showroom presentation and how inventory integrity supports the customer experience. Position requirements:Visual/Inventory experience. You bring 5+ years of related visual/merchandising (including knowledge in color theory), inventory management, customer experience and furniture selling. You have an eye for detail, not perfection.Design Savvy. You are passionate about design, know the trends and love the Room & Board brand. You understand color, texture, and mixing materials to develop spaces that are both functional and inspiring.Natural at building relationships. You enjoy working with people and being a strong partner, collaborating with your team and the broader company visual team. Effective communication skills. You bring professional, consistent and timely communication to ensure that you create the best experiences for our customers, retail team and home office.Strong planning and organizational skills. You have a game plan that is aligned to sales and the broader business, but are also agile and open to change as you balance routine responsibilities with customer and business needs. You bring an aptitude for good time management, process execution and a proactive problem solver. Skilled in Technology. You are comfortable navigating technology and leveraging tools and resources to successfully accomplish the task at hand. Working knowledge of floor planning software (Floorplanner is preferred).Project Management. You will manage all aspects of assortment introductions, painting maintenance, lighting of the showroom and marketing but not limited to these. Ability to safely perform the work. The safety and wellbeing of our staff members is paramount.
