Sr. Lab Technician

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist and oversee lab testing, personnel, and analytical reports. Play lead role in areas of product and system development. Prepare management related reports as required by Technology Manager. Interview and recommend all laboratory personnel including college interns. Track all testing projects and set testing priorities. Ensure all testing complies with latest API protocol. Ensure environmental compliance as it relates to chemicals and disposal. Maintain records of and ensure compliance with NOV HSE policies. Assist in continued development of Lab Star software. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide lab and technical assistance to NOV groups engaged in product system, equipment development. Travel to NOV and operator locations in support of NOV groups. Interface with customers regarding laboratory functions, capabilities, and test results. JOB ANALYSIS: Extensive experience in drilling fluids analyses. Background in rig operations, field experience a plus. Knowledge and background in API RP 13 B-1, 13 B-2, and 13I.
