Manufacturing Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and releasing manufactured and purchased parts and assemblies in an efficient manner while supporting company objectives regarding inventory, sales volume, product cost, scheduling, and customer demands. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Planner interfaces with each of our functional groups (planning, engineering, shipping, manufacturing leadership, quality, etc.) to ensure On Time Delivery (OTD). Planner must be able to work independently with excellent time management but also employ a team approach, collaborating with value stream teammates as well as suppliers to evaluate and understand any supplier or production issues. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Approve, release and monitor status of production and purchase orders. Develop and provide input to Manufacturing build plan. Develop priorities and communicate support functions while taking an active role in problem resolution as required. Coordinate with all shop departments to ensure proper inventory levels - maintain knowledge of plant operations and equipment design in order to plan properly. Review and release work orders per the system demand, manage the system recommended messages, as well as maintain work order dates that adhere to the metrics for the organization. Periodically review non-conformances and engineering changes to rework any work orders as required. Keep Planning Supervisor aware about applicable changes that would affect the lead time of the part so that the system can be kept up to date. Regularly monitor and update safety stock levels in the system when necessary. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. FACILITY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES: Provide delivery date(s) for work and or planned orders being expedited by the Master Scheduler. Identify errors within Routings and or Bills of Materials and work to have them corrected by Engineering to ensure MRP is driving properly. Maintenance of Item Attributes to ensure that MRP is driving properly. Communicates production schedule and priority with appropriate team members, reconciles scheduling conflict(s) with production personnel, and redirects as appropriate. Perform analysis that supports defining the roadmap for production capacity increases/change. Respond to unanticipated changes"”e.g. production shortfall vs. schedule or material shortages: provide information, impact assessment, and options to downstream shops, revise production shifts and or mix as needed. EDUCATION & EXPERIINECE QUALIFICATIONS: 3-5 years'' experience production planning, required. High School diploma or equivalent. JDE experience is a plus. Oracle Supply Cloud Planning experience is a plus. APICS certification preferred or the desire and ability to attain certification. Ability to research problems using ERP systems. Oracle experience preferable but another ERP experience will be considered.
