Java Back End Developer

We are seeking a Java Back End Developer to support web application development for our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client, focusing on supporting development of critical citizen service enhancements. *As a federal contractor, Maximus is subject to Executive Order 14042 and the Safe Workforce Task Force''s COVID-19 Workplace Safety Guidance for Federal Contractors and Subcontractors. In light of these requirements, all employees will eventually need to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment and new hires/employees will be required to provide proof of vaccination. *Position is fully remote. Ideal candidates will be in DC area, but qualified candidates outside of DC will be considered. Primary Responsibilities: ● Implement program and code changes as directed by the Lead Java Developer ● Implement new features and enhancements to existing or new applications ● Help design new changes or features under the guidance of the Lead Java Developer ● Debug and document existing programs as needed ● Participate in code reviews, to review for correctness and enforce coding best practices and coding standards ● Organize and schedule application release activities
