This places them in the top 5% of hospitals in the country for superior clinical performance and excellence Opened an offsite 24 bed, 24/7 emergency room in Central Pasco to better serve the emergency health needs of residents in west and central Pasco Work Hours/Shift: Full Time/ Days You Will Be Responsible For: Under the direction of the Clinical Education Manager/or Director performs duties as designated in compliance with established AdventHealth mission, policies, and procedures. Consults with Clinical Education Manager, inpatient Managers and Directors as needed. Assist in developing programs for Critical Care Service unit(s) or group specific, based on identified educational needs or staff/nursing leadership requests. Identifies the general purpose and educational objectives for each learning activity as evidenced by clearly defined objectives and purpose for the learning activity. Identifies expected outcomes that incorporate scientific evidence and are achievable through implementation of evidence-based practices. Provides learning activities for clinical and emergency department staff as evidenced by competency skills fairs, orientation classes, in-services, and continuing education programs. Develops creative educational offering for nursing staff, focused on cultural diversity and sensitivity and participates in the implementation. Presents an educational program or in-service with focus on safe practice of nursing. Assist in educational programs and learning experiences relative to but not limited to new equipment, medications, changes in policies and procedures, advances in clinical practice, corporate compliance, HIPAA, and any other pertinent topics. Programs are publicized through the Education Calendar, E-Mail, Personal invitations, ALN software, and signs in designated areas. Regularly works with Managers and Directors in Critical Care Services (ICU, PCU) to facilitate staff competency. Performs activities and maintains files/records that comply with all local, state, and Federal regulatory requirements: American Heart Association, Florida Department of Health, DNV, The Agency of Health Care Administration, E.C.C.O, etc. Assists system administrator of RQI in monitoring quarterly compliance in Critical Care Services. QualificationsWhat You Will Need: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of educational assessment, planning, evaluation, and outcomes. Knowledge of core nursing concepts Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and must be adaptable to new software programs. Strong presentation skills and interpersonal skills required Effective communication among employees, and between employees, patients, visitors and supervisors KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: Knowledge of Evidence Based Practice Knowledge of Emergency Department, PCU and ICU. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor''s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field 5 years of experience in a clinical setting upon hire 6 months of Education experience upon hire EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: MSN in Nursing Education or related field preferred LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Florida or Licensure from another state with verification of application and eligibility for Florida licensure by endorsement upon hire Current American Heart Association BLS certification or RQI upon hire, then renewed quarterly per RQI protocols Current American Heart Association ACLS certification or RQI upon hire, then renewed quarterly per RQI protocols 8 hours of Hip and Knee Replacement / Spine Education within 6 months of hire date 8 hours of Stroke Education within 6 months of hire date Job Summary: Under the direction of the Clinical Education Manager/or Director, the Critical Care Services Clinical Educator has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and their effect on patient care. The position is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for healthcare staff in compliance with the various State of Florida healthcare professional boards as well as the AdventHealth systems mission, policies, and procedures. Performs duties as assigned by Clinical Education Manager/ or Director.
