Position Overview Performs maintenance work on equipment, building, grounds and facilities May be assigned specific projects and construct equipment which may include building steel and wood structures Performs gas and arc welding Skilled in diagnosing mechanical problems and determining necessary repairs needed to restore defective equipment to service with minimal delay Must perform duties with regard to safety of self, co-workers, equipment and company property at all times Reports concerns, issues, or questions immediately to Management, and assists with developing and implementing corrective actions Completes required paperwork or reports neatly and timely, as well as maintaining good housekeeping practices of work area Additional duties as assigned Job Requirements Skilled in the use of hand and power tools along with gas and arc welding Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, manuals, parts lists, and specifications Has or will be able to provide all necessary hand tools associated with this position Must be able to work with little supervision and be self-driven Must have high school diploma or equivalent, technical school certification is a plus Must have five or more years of experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic or similar position in a manufacturing environment Must be able to work in high heat and cool conditions, exposure to dust and noise over 85 dB, able to carry 50 lbs. on occasion, along with ability to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as related to work being performed.
