St. Paul''s SchoolMath and Science TutorDetailed Description:For the Winter and Spring terms of the 2021/2022 school year, the Academic Support Office seeks a passionate and energetic part-time tutor (15 hours per week) for a two-term position. Candidates should be interested in being part of a collaborative group of educators and in working with highly motivated high school students in a diverse, fully residential community. Applicants should be able to tutor in pre-college mathematics and science courses, ideally, through Precalculus. Top consideration will be given to candidates who have an advanced degree in Mathematics or Science or related subjects. Experience and enthusiasm for working with adolescents is essential. In addition to a CV, applicants should submit a cover letter and/or teaching statement indicating a specific interest in tutoring at a residential high school that is actively committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.Position is for 15 hours per week. Schedule will vary depending on students'' timetables. In addition, candidates should demonstrate: Experience teaching/tutoring high school science and math for a minimum of 10 years. Willingness to enforce all school policies and rules governing student behavior. A commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.Accountabilities Cultural Competency: Tutor is expected to demonstrate respect for diversity of identities and experiences, an orientation toward equity and inclusion, and cultural competency in all aspects of School life.Additional RequirementsProof of authority to work in the United States, full time.Successful completion of a criminal background check.A minimum of 10 years of teaching/tutoring experience.Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
