WHAT YOU''LL DOReporting to the Director of Market and Consumer Access, you will lead and execute consumer access strategies for the continuous and blood glucose monitoring portfolio. Addressing patient affordability and access is a critical need in the evolving managed care landscape. You will work with the trade, market access, consumer, finance and the healthcare professional sales and marketing teams to support the growth of on-market and new products while building awareness of access programs. As a member of the consumer access team, you will provide in-depth analyses to create effective pricing strategies to optimize for profitability and be a team player with strong leadership and project management capabilities.Responsibilities:Primary responsibility for building the consumer access strategic and tactical business plan and associated processes. Develops the annual consumer access business plan based on effective market access definition, segmentation and targeting. Gain an understanding of customer sensitivity to pricing, analyze market data, and identify critical market trends and opportunities across all channels.Develop and execute consumer access growth strategies and tactics, including patient access programs that target key customers. Gain management approval by presenting detailed plans prior to implementation of programs. Leads all aspects of tactical implementation, including timelines, creation of promotional and training materials, and training of internal stakeholders and field based professionals (Market Access, Trade and Healthcare Professional Sales Force and Marketing). You will also provide relevant market/environment insights and strategic/tactical direction pertaining to consumer access for new product teract with key internal stakeholders to ensure strategies and tactics are linked to achievement of critical business objectives. Key internal stakeholders include Finance, Regulatory, Sales, Managed Access, Legal, Contracts and Pricing and all marketing personnel. Support field-based professionals for consumer access programsManage efficient and timely delivery of consumer access deliverables (price-value models, access messaging)Create and develop affordability campaigns for patientsCompare prices set by competitors and measure customer satisfaction and adoption based on priceUnderstand contract negotiations as well as proposal development. Manages effective vendor and agency relationships. Selects vendors for consumer access programs and projects.Budget for all consumer access resources, including defining and securing needed resources to accomplish business strategic objectives and adhering to established budget guidelines.Lead a team to build pricing models and understand the impact of pricing on profit margins. Lead development of all consumer access resources and pull-through tactics and coordination with Sales Force/Marketing including implementation, and measurement.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU''LL BRINGRequiredBachelors Degree requiredSix years marketing experience with a minimum of four years in a commercial role including, product marketingPreferredMBAPrevious experience in IVD, Medical Devices or a related health care industry is preferred. A solid understanding of the commercial device market with pharmacy channel experience is a plus. Backgrounds in pricing, reimbursement, payer strategy, health economic, strategic marketing, strategic planning, business development and finance are desired but not required.An understanding of the U.S. healthcare, regulatory and pricing environmentWorking knowledge of pharmacy, OTC or MO/DME channels for fulfillmentProven ability to work and communicate across a matrix organization and ability to lead projects and getting alignmentExcellent oral and written communication skills; proficient in EnglishUnderstanding of finance and accounting principlesPossess strong analytical skills, business and financial acumen, and capable of effective use of market research, forecasts and business analyticsDemonstrate strong customer orientation/focusWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerpointAbility to connect analytics with the overarching business questions, and can understand the link between access strategy and analytic insightsManage ambiguity by questioning data and/or stakeholder for further nuanced informationCan develop new ways of thinking about a problem, in order to provide an effective solutionCan defend a position when necessary, particularly around forecast assumptions, and is persuasive in negotiations (especially as it relates to senior management)Excellent organizational and time management skillsWHAT WE OFFERAt Abbott, you can have a good job that can grow into a great career.
