Overview: The Medical Records Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and management of the Medical Records service for the facility and ensures that the medical record services comply with federal and state regulatory requirements, legal standards, management policies, and generally accepted Health Information Management standards of practice. The Medical Records Coordinator is also responsible for information governance of the health information data, ensuring it is appropriately collected, stored, secured, and maintained throughout the entirety of the data lifecycle and that it is properly destroyed at the end of the retention period. Qualifications: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) certification preferred Associates degree in Medical Records Technology or related field required Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care experience Demonstrated computer skills using databases and applications (e.g. Microsoft Office) Knowledge of medical terminology required Knowledge of the Standards of Ethical Coding preferred Knowledge of the Value based healthcare reimbursement system and Patient-Driven Payment Model preferredElderwood expects all current and new employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
