What is the Job?: The Austin Animal Center is seeking someone who will share our commitment to deliver exceptional service and care to our customers on a daily basis. The Animal Services Supervisor - Adoption Team, under the direction of the Program Manager, is the leader of our adoption team''s business operations and activities and the person that keeps this team moving forward. The position will plan, assign, and supervise work of assigned staff and will provide advice, counsel, training and support to the Customer Service Representatives. Customer Services Representatives are responsible for advising and responding to complex customer inquiries regarding services, ordinances, and procedures related to sheltered animals and general animal welfare, including animal availability. Customer communication will occur in person, email, fax, phone or 311. Additional Duties: Assist in developing policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility. Assist in budget preparation and utilization and tracking of resources. Perform administrative functions and special projects. Maintain clear and accurate records. Contribute to the programs and services that support the shelter''s live outcome goal. All positions in the Animal Services Office are designated as essential. Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak Spanish. Demonstrated experience in a full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendations for dismissal. Prior work experience managing schedules and delegating team assignments. Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced, high stress environment and managing emotions and competing priorities. Prior experience with budget planning, budget management, and purchasing. Demonstrated experience problem solving and prioritizing. Maintaining and updating automated record keeping and files.10. Coordinating with other agencies in activities related to the designated section(s).11. Coordinating with other section(s) supervisors scheduling of staff.12. May prepare notifications for the news media.
