Trouble shoot, identify and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties performed by employees in this position will include, but not be limited to the following:Consistently operates zone of forming machines at or above standard levels considering waste, efficiency and utilization.Troubleshoot causes of machine malfunctions. Make appropriate adjustments or repairs to ensure that the quality of the cartons meeting specifications and that the machines operate properly.Conducts quality checks at regular intervals. Takes corrective action to fix defects identified.Performs minor repairs during production.Performs changeovers.Performs weekly machine municates with the operator from the previous and following shifts to review any problems experienced on the machines throughout the municates with supervisor to determine priorities for the day and identify any change overs or other special directions related to the department. Operator will communicate to C/P/F of the municates production information to crew members.Performs purge procedures when changing to a new product and completes the required checklists.Covers breaks for feeders and catcher/packers in sures that corrugated, bags and other supplies are available for catcher/pletes appropriate end of shift paperwork, machine time, and production quantities.Reads and understands job jackets. Uses information to ensure machine is set up and production is run according to pletes quality paperwork and hour by hour leader standard work.Follows LOTO and alternative LOTO procedures.Maintains a clean and orderly work area."A" rate qualification requires performing three make readies.Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree or equivalent experience. Successful completion of a minimum of six weeks of in house operator training. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to measure to 1/16 of an inch and to convert the measurement to the appropriate decimal equivalent. MECHANICAL SKILLS: Ability to successfully complete the mechanical questionnaire and apply mechanical principals to efficient operation of forming equipment. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and understand basic English. Ability to communicate effectively, get along with coworkers and management, and deal effectively and professionally under pressure. Ability to write clear messages on downtime logs and shift paperwork. REASONING ABILITIY:Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situation.
