"‹* Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and project transfers. "‹* Produce and issue paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts. "‹* Prepare certified payroll reports for all prevailing wage projects.* Prepare reports by related to earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. "‹* Determine weekly and quarterly payroll liabilities through the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer''s social security, unemployment, and worker''s compensation payments. "‹* Balance payroll accounts monthly and resolve any discrepancies. * Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures. "‹* Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements.* Maintain employee confidence and safeguards payroll operations.* Bachelor''s degree highly preferred; Associates degree required * Certified Payroll reporting experience preferred* In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing* Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal rules and laws* Paychex software proficiency required* Proficiency in Excel required* Knowledge of Sage Timberline preferredMy client is seeking a Payroll Associate to join the team ASAP in a contracted capacity.
