Position Summary: The Payroll Tax Analyst position requires extensive knowledge of various payroll tax compliance laws at the federal, state and local levels and must understand how to navigate the various processes for governmental tax agencies. This individual must be detail-oriented with solid problem-solving and analytical skills. The Payroll Tax Analyst''s primary responsibility is to ensure accurate taxation, reporting, and tax remittances for the company''s payrolls and serves as a subject matter expert on all payroll tax related matters. This position also is responsible for maintaining the company''s salary rate matrix to ensure SOX compliance. Essential Duties:Responsible for the review of all payments and filing of federal, state and local withholding and unemployment taxes in the U.S.Responsible for quarter-end and year-end reconciliations of all payroll tax liabilities; prepares payroll tax adjustments as needed to bring W-2 and 941 files into balance Analyzes pay records to determine correct taxation setup for employees and the company. Maintains employee taxation setup in accordance with federal, state and local regulations Responsible for assuring tax and SUI updates are input timely and accurately into the ADP payroll systemResponsible for payroll tax compliance, including tax research and analysis to maintain compliance for the company Serves as a subject matter expert on all payroll tax related matters Assists ADP Tax Services in responding to all tax notices and governmental correspondence. This will include, but is not limited to, tax overpayments and/or refunds, as well as penalty and interest claimsResponsible for the tax analysis on all mergers and acquisitions to ensure tax requirements are thoroughly completedResolve payroll tax inquiries/issues for employees; create W-2Cs or 941 amendments when necessaryUpdates, audits and publishes the company''s rate matrix for all salaries in all markets; reviews annually with auditors for SOX complianceMonitors minimum wage changes through Gov Docs and notifies appropriate parties of the changes Performs other responsibilities, duties and special projects as assigned Adhere to HIPAA compliance Maintains confidentiality of all payroll information and PHI Position Requirements & Competencies: Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or Finance, or in a related field preferred Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience solely in payroll tax and compliance with multi-state accounts for single large employers with active acquisition growth plans Must have strong organizational and analytical skills and be detailed oriented Must possess excellent time management skills to ensure that all employee tax setups are completed and the company''s quarterly and annual returns are filed timely ADP Vantage experience preferred This position requires proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office; including Outlook, Word and especially Excel Ability to multi-task under tight deadlines Process-driven while able to be resourceful and adaptable Ability to work independently, in a remote environment, with minimal oversight from supervisor Strong customer service focus with the ability to effectively communicate with government agencies and employees Strong written and verbal communication skillsAddus provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
