Software Engineer III - Core Technology Infrastructure

Job Description:Summary:Provide technical expertise in all aspects of solution design and application development for Markets business environments. Focus on implementation and adoption of Cloud technologies and best practices for automation, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ensuring the reliability and robustness of the platform as it scales in scope and usage Work with project / initiative teams to insure proper design and infrastructure patterns for high availability, failover, infrastructure / code certification, and customized monitoring Develop and build automation tools and processes to support development and production environments. Work closely with Markets business partners in defining requirements for applications. Work collaboratively with a geographically dispersed teamTechnical Skills:Experience in developing large-scale, user-facing Web applications • Experience as a software engineer, developer and/or architect of Web applications Experience with modern architectures including: IaaS, PaaS, Docker, KubernetesKnowledge of or practical experience implementing twelve-factor applications Development skills/tools: Object-oriented language with a client-side rendering Web framework Python 3, FastAPI or Flask Java 8+ (nice-to-have), Spring Boot/Framework, Maven or Gradle, *nix systems JavaScript + modern Web framework - React, AngularJS, Vue.js or similar. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack.
