JOB TITLE: Downstream Operator LOCATION: ELYRIA, OH (ELYRIA BRANCH) DIVISION: Nesco Resource Light Industrial SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: The Downstream Operator will maintain the quality of the extruded product and its packaging. This position works a static, bi-weekly schedule rotation consisting of 12-hour shifts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Place the correct reel on the reeler to run and prepare for start-up. Operate reeler (both manual and auto mode). Monitor print lines and footage markings and make corrections as needed. Monitor for continuous stripe (if required). Know and understand the quality requirements for all products being produced. Make all checks needed to ensure that the product being wound on the reels meets product requirements. These checks will include, but are not limited to: Proper puller pressure. Stuck cable on CIC (Cable In Conduit) products. Hot spots on the duct. Surface temperature of duct. Print quality. Surface quality of duct. Holes, die-face build-up on duct. Loss of stripes. Inform the supervisor or extrusion technician of problem areas before making the necessary adjustments. Ensure wrapping on reels meets customer expectations. Cut conduit, tie-off, and cap when each conduit (and cable if applicable) is complete. Paint and stencil wood reels if required. Grind line scrap as it is produced and stack scrap. Assist extrusion technician in line start-ups. Maintain a neat and orderly work area. Assist other operators in cutting conduits, tie-offs, and reel changes. Follow all safety requirements for this position and all company safety guidelines. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Complete appropriate paperwork to ensure accurate inventory transactions. Memorize and recite the Dura-line Quality Policy. EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED desired. Ability to read and write English. Ability to perform simple math: add, subtract, multiply, divide and take measurements. OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to climb stairs, listen to equipment, look for defects and temperature changes in the finished product. Ability to hold conduit and drive nails into reel flanges simultaneously. Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and / or bending under objects. Ability to spend up to 12 hours at a shift on your feet and around hot machinery. WORKING CONDITIONS: Manufacturing floor environment SHIFTS: 12 Hour Shift 7:00pm-7:00am ALTERNATING WEEKS MON. TUES FRI AND SAT SUN WEDS THURS PAY: 1st Shift $14.90/hr. 2nd Shift $15.90/hr.
