Senior Technical Accountant

Summary The Senior Technical Accountant will be responsible for accounting policy documentation, technical accounting research, contract reviews under ASC 606, monthly revenue entries, process documentation and process improvement identification. Responsibilities Prepares, maintains and communicates accounting policies, procedures, financial results with management and responds to inquiries from the CFO, Director of Revenue, Controller, and other managers. Supports in research, documentation and communication of accounting methodologies for special transactions and situations Creates accounting records, memorandums, and files that document special transaction details related to mergers, acquisitions, and unique transactions and advise and develop journal entries to record transactions accurately Leads the documentation effort and of the Company''s operational and financial processes Responsible for ensuring controls related to financial reporting and revenue recognition are in place, documented and operating as designed Reviews contracts including newly executed and already existing agreements Assists with monthly and quarterly revenue close, including preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries Assists with the fiscal year-end close and consolidation process Identifies areas of potential improvement during the documentation of the Company''s processes Assists in the development of the monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting packages Requirements Bachelor''s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field 3-5 years of overall work experience, including 2 years at a large public accounting firm Excellent knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC rules and regulations and external reporting requirements Experience with accounting research and technical memo documentation CPA or CPA candidacy required Advanced Excel skills required, proficiency in other MS office products including Word and PowerPoint Attention to detail and solid documentation techniques Strong organizational, communication (oral and written), and planning skills are required
