Our values ask for a deeper level of commitment, and what is asked of us we freely give because we believe in our mission.Required Qualifications:• High school diploma or GED• Six (6) months of nursing assistant experience or certification required• Mature, courteous deportment• Legible printing• Clear speaking voice; multi-language ability desirable• Typing/computer skills• Medical terminology required prior to unit orientation or documentation of formal class within three (3) years• Previous experience desirablePreferred Qualifications:• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification encouragedDuties and Responsibilities:• Provides assistance with the activities of daily living for all patients on the unit• Performs vital signs• Maintenance of the patient medical record (assembly, order entry, consultations)Customer Service: • Greets all customers• Answers patient call lights• Communicates with all members of the medical teamOther Responsibilities:• Keeps designated supplies at appropriate levels• Performs accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to duties• Learns quickly and has good recall• Deals with the emotional stress of caring for dying and chronically ill patients• May be cross trained to assist with patient care activities• Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC''s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship• Other duties as assignedSan Juan Regional Medical Center provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
