If required by position: Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL). Specific endorsements may be required to be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire. Physical Requirements:Ability to bend, lift, walk, carry or use a force equal to lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Notes to Applicants The Facility Service Specialist provides building maintenance at Austin Energy''s (AE) Headquarters building at 4815 Mueller Blvd, and may occasionally provide maintenance at other AE sites as required to support the 24 hour Utility operations. The Facility Service Specialist is the main point of contact for basic facility maintenance requests and who responds to building emergencies. The Facility Service Specialist meets daily with the facilities management staff to schedule and plan assigned projects. This position communicates effectively both orally and in writing with internal and external customers to provide a safe and healthy environment for all employees and visitors. A valid Class C Driver''s License is required to travel to and from different work sites, attend meetings and/or attend other work related assignments. This position is physically demanding and requires daily year around outdoor activities during extreme hot and inclement weather. Extensive and frequent walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting upper body, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders and stairs is required to perform essential job functions. Finger and manual dexterity is required to frequently operating vehicles, power tools and equipment. Job duties also include lifting heavy equipment and a variety of building materials. Building materials include wood and modular furniture, metal cabinets, heavy doors, heavy equipment and all types and sizes of sand bags and boxes. Conducts site inspections and reports on maintenance needs and safety violations. Coordinates with contractors, vendors, and other divisions providing maintenance, repairs, and moves to assigned buildings. Calculates figures and compiles data and information for reports, cost estimates, etc. Prepares and maintains status reports on projects. Monitors lease agreements, maintenance contracts, equipment installation contracts and construction contracts. Researches information as requested or needed.
