Job Description:In a data driven economy, strategic data asset management is foundational to add to the enterprise value. Within Global Risk Management, we are formalizing the Data Strategy & Management (DSM) function and establishing a new team underneath - Strategic Coordination and Implementation (SCI) team. The SCI Leads will report to the Data Strategy & Management Executive. Under DSM Executive''s leadership, the SCI team will develop a holistic vision on how best to structure data sourcing and control strategy for GRM so it can unlock business value. This role provides SCI lead with a broad platform to build partnerships with business and risk counterparts, a vantage point to explore end-to-end data ecosystems and technologies, and ability to influence data strategies that drive the greatest value across the lines of business.ROLE DESCRIPTIONThe role will be required to partner across GRM, Control Functions and Front-Line Unit stakeholder teams to evaluate the current data ecosystem; define the vision; drive development of their data strategies and roadmaps for data capture, transport, and use; define core KPIs for the measuring progress of data strategy, including data quality - related to assessing and remediating risk. Drive strong partnerships across the organization to fully understand their business goals and link to data needs.Collaborate closely with enterprise and Front-line Units, with the primary focus of ensuring that the right strategy and processes are in place to meet the strategic data objectives while addressing the immediate operating priorities, business impacts, mitigation strategies and escalation protocols. Collaborate with data owners, data users and technology teams to unify data through modern data management techniques.Ensure that the FLU strategies are consistent in their understanding and delivery of the full requirements of the downstream risk and regulatory processes. Determines requirements for enhancements to new enterprise-wide principles, policies, processes and practices as needed.Develop and manage approach for measuring adoption of principles, policies, processes and practices.Develop and drive enforcement of standards for robust data governance.Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.Produce recommendations for enterprise-wide guiding principles, policies, processes and practices.Be a thought leader and synthesize existing data governance principles, policies, practices and industry standards to influence development of best practices across the enterpriseResponsible for program scope, change, and risk managementPrepare executive/management level reporting and other regulatory updates.Accelerate cost reductions in risk from the adoption of improved FLU processes.SKILLS FOR SUCCESSTechnical ExpertiseDemonstrates the application of innovative technical solutions to solving complex data intensive challenges Comfortable with the application of digital technology and inclusion of controls as part of application designDevise and recommend solutions to enhance Data Quality process automation, governance, and reporting.Experience in software-based controls in a high volume, real-time business environment in a highly automated businessesStrong understanding of the compliance and risk environment in financial servicesExecution ExpertiseAbility to drive program execution through disciplined oversight with right assignment of accountabilitiesSuccessful delivery in a cross functional team environment in financial services - business, technology, compliance and risk.Leadership capabilityA successful candidate will also need to navigate effectively across different levels of the enterprise Able to coordinate and prioritize data strategy as well as shape detailed solutions with quants, technologists and business teammatesAble to adjust communication styles to explain complex issues in appropriate terms and perspectives to a broad audienceStrong influencing and partnership skills, including with senior FLU and Risk leadersDevelop strategic solutions broadly across Risk, prioritizing and influencing for needsAble to represent GRM in senior forums up to executive management levelRequired Skills and Experience:Bachelors or Masters in computer science, system analysis or related field with minimum 10+ years of relevant experienceExtensive experience as a Director or in a similar role -interfacing with business leaders and strategic partners to develop strategic business plans and implementation roadmapsExperience developing data strategy or data or analytic teams responsible for developing, managing, or delivering data products/processes, or data/analytics warehouses, with client delivery or accountabilityDemonstrated success in effectively leveraging cross-functional and matrix resources to deliver high-quality customer-focused solutions.Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead discussions with executive managementStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsExcellent influencing skills at all levels and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with senior leadership, stakeholders and colleaguesSelf-motivated with an ability to work on one''s own with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in high-pressure situationsDesired Skills & Experience Deep experience in one of the following areas - Trading, Consumer Banking, Wealth Management, Compliance SurveillanceDemonstrable experience of driving meaningful improvements in business value through data management and delivery of new data productsExperience in establishing governance functions and designing target operating modelsJob Band:H4Shift: 1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week:40Weekly Schedule:Referral Bonus Amount:0 --> Job Description:In a data driven economy, strategic data asset management is foundational to add to the enterprise value.
