The Material Handler position is generally responsible for safely and accurately moving, transporting, coordinating and/or expediting flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within the Boston Gear facility with the objective of meeting or exceeding internal and external customer expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive and inspect incoming shipmentsPick material and deliver to appropriate area(s)Enter shipments into designated computer systemStage and store materials in proper locationsIf applicable, scan the material using a computer and SAP applicationResponsible for proper care of powered industrial equipmentMaintain 5S to ensure the work area is always kept clean and orderlyOperate forklift/powered vehicle in a safe mannerOther duties as assigned. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn, and proper safety precautions must be observed. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: solvents, dusts, lead, fiberglass, noise, heat, cold. Potential physical demands include, but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
