JOB SUMMARY The Buyer is responsible to coordinate, plan and expedite the flow of materials, parts and assemblies between vendors and departments according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities. Compiles and maintains manual or electronic records. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Comply with Boral Safety Policies and Procedures Reviews production schedules, order history and related information to determine material requirements Determines the amount of material required by applying knowledge of the product and manufacturing process Order, track, manage and keep right sized inventories in stock. Follow up with vendors to ensure delivery dates are met and any issues are resolved Issues releases and requisitions to order material. Establish and publish delivery dates based on production schedules and material availability Manage, update and maintain inventory via SAP or manual system to include status, location, and quantity Resolves any invoice and material issues Establishes and maintains vendor relations through communication and training
