You will work with others to identify new service business opportunities, helping to convince clients to take the complete service portfolio.Your responsibilitiesAs the Switchgear Specialist, you will lead major ABB Energy Management Services Service Center Switchgear repair businessUnderstand electrical safety and Lock Out / Tag Out procedures and practicesProvide technical knowledge, expertise, and direction in the repair of all types of power delivery / switchgear apparatusProvide customers with pro-active technical leadership and problem-solving supportProvide technical, sales and quoting support to switchgear / power delivery segmentAssist in driving key business performance metrics for volume and operating marginWork with / lead switchgear workforce to implement Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives, track and resolve concernsImprove quality assurance and drive consistency / adherence to quality procedures and requirements consistent with Energy Management Services processes and proceduresWork with Service Center Manager to drive improvements in job / project management, quality, and job productivityParticipate in national Switchgear segment and business initiativesYour backgroundBachelor''s Degree and Minimum of 5 years of related engineering and work leader experience. OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of related engineering and work leader experience).Preferred minimum of 3 years of Switchgear / power delivery, Service Center or Manufacturing experience.Preferred minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience (preferably in a union craft labor environment).Six Sigma Certification or equivalent preferred.Understanding of industrial machines, systems, and equipment (i.e., AC & DC motors, generators, drives and controls).Familiarity with one-line, connection, and elementary diagrams of power systems & equipment.Experience with energy isolation and LOTO procedures & practices.Familiarity with standard PC tools (i.e., MS Office and web-based applications).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work with a unionized workforce in a shop environment.Ability to manage multiple projects at once, manage time and be self-directed.Able to thrive in a diverse cross-functional team environment.Ability to influence others.Highly motivated, results driven.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.BenefitsRetirement planLife insuranceDisability insuranceMedical insuranceWellbeing programMore about usABB''s Distribution Solutions Division provides utility, industrial and commercial customers with safe, smart and sustainable technologies for the distribution of electricity.
