About the Instructor (Tutor) Position: We are looking for energetic, positive individuals to work as Instructors (Tutors) in a Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center on Campus"”where we provide small-group and one-to-one instruction at local area schools. Instructors will be expected to deliver instruction in person on school campuses as well as remotely. We teach students of all ages to read and comprehend to their potential, including those with a previous diagnosis such as dyslexia or autism. These positions are part-time. Paid training in the programs used by Lindamood-Bell is provided. Required hours during the training are generally 8 hours a day, Monday through Friday, for two weeks. Following the training, as a part-time employee, Following the training, as a part-time employee you will generally be scheduled less than 30 hours a week between the hours of 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., according to the instructional needs of the Learning Center on Campus. The hourly rate of pay for this position will be $23.00 per hour while work is performed at a local school campus. During the initial ten day training, the rate of pay will be $18.00 per hour. Additional hours providing instruction at a Lindamood-Bell Learning Center may be available at the rate of $18.00 per hour. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required upon offer of employment. Requests for reasonable accommodations will be considered. Lindamood-Bell Instructor Expectations: Utilize a Socratic questioning method to help students develop their language and literacy skills. Implement positive-reinforcement strategies that maximize learning in a cheerful and authentic manner. Possess excellent reading, spelling, and comprehension skills. Possess strong computer skills and the ability to type notes about student performance while leading engaging sessions. Have a passion for helping others reach their potential. Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group instruction both in-person on a school campus and online. Work with Learning Center on Campus leaders to implement student instructional plans. Interact positively and professionally with students, school personnel, and other Lindamood-Bell staff to provide a safe and positive learning environment. Use provided technology to facilitate instruction and manage client records. Must be able to operate basic computer functions including but not limited to scrolling and navigating various web pages, opening and moving between multiple tabs on a browser, creating bookmarks and accessing saved web pages, and using a mouse. Must be able to operate applications and software including but not limited to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Chats, Google Sheets, and video conference platforms.
