POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor, Probabilistic Risk Assessment, the PRA Engineer 2 is a junior-level position that will work closely within the PRA team as a technical analyst to perform severe accident analyses that support probabilistic risk assessment of nuclear power plants (i.e., beyond design basis accident analyses). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform severe accident engineering calculations using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g., MELCOR, RELAP5) with minimal supervision.Conduct independent analysis to support development of design-specific plant response/simulation evaluations with minimal supervision.Effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with other technical and non-technical disciplines, customers, and regulators.Performs other duties as assigned.CORE COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate competencies in performing the essential functions of this position by performing satisfactorily in each of these competencies. Advance degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of two years of full-time working experience in severe accident analysis is required, preferably on commercial nuclear power plants, is required.
