Field Network Tech - Manhattan

This position will support facilities management, site security, and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customers by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success. Position Details: Hourly salary based upon the level of experience & skill-set Long-term contractwith possible extension(s) or opportunity of hire. Standard work hours: Mon-Sat: Hours vary(must be comfortable working dispatch days/evenings/weekends/on-call) Mobile Worker Supporting Client sites in - Manhattan & Long Island, NY Requires a valid drivers license and dependable vehicle Requirements: Must be proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers. Requires experience in working in communications closets Must be able to perform rack and stack activities Must be able to safely lift heavy objects Must understand cable patching processes and procedures Must be familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross-connect procedures Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking. Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues Must understand network terminology Must be familiar with IP phone Must be able to program Cisco phones Must be able to install Avaya phones Must be able to troubleshoot Avaya and Cisco phones Requires good interpersonal communications skills Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue Must be able to interpret a customer''s issue in a way that will allow the technician to facilitate a resolution Experience and Education: 5 years of experience in data communications Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches, and routers Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide-area networking.
